Everything went smoothly until I got to step from the instructions on the download page. Cant tell if trolling, or just very stupid. The WG wireless adapter is not identified on my Windows 7 64 bit computer. My guess is that he’s just selling a copy of the drivers that he downloaded from Windows Update. The rebooting process clears the existing configuration of router and allows the modem and NETGEAR router to establish a new connection.

Message 7 of The CD did not work, so I went to the page on the Netgear site to see if they had any new drivers for Windows 7.
Message 4 of When the drivers are installed, you can immediately use them to connect to a wireless access point. Make sure your Win7 computer has a working Internet connection. Cant tell if trolling, or just very stupid.
I then unplugged the adapter from the USB slot and commenced installation. I scoured google for answers. You might need to temporarily connect it via Ethernet cable.

Wait ffee Windows to find and install drivers from Windows Update. I’ll report if it worked. The rebooting process clears the existing configuration of router and allows the modem and NETGEAR router to establish a new connection.
Message 8 of There were more steps in the installation process but nothing else happened. I’m not at a stage where I could use my Wireless network using this adapter yet, as the driver isn’t identified on my computer. Possible compatibility issue, some devices may not work for 64 bit even if there are drivers for it. But, the problem remains the same – no luck with the WG adapter on Win 7.
I hope this is not the case maybe someone can change my mind.
I netgearr tried the WGv2 with bit Windows 7, but it probably works fine, too. I tried using the automatic updates by getting internet from my laptop.

No reboot is needed. Hi, typo correction from my last post – my Windows 7 is bit, not 64 bit.
Message 10 of Be patient, it will take a few minutes less than ten, perhaps less than five. Message 3 of So I restarted the computer ran the installer again which uninstalled the old software.
Hi forum members, Any help in this regard will be appreciated. I tried earlier versions of the driver in compatibility modes. I made sure to plug the adapter in just as step 13 asked frer I saw the blue light and pressed next. I carefully followed the instructions to install the driver version 4.

Both bit and bit drivers for this device are listed in the Windows Update Catalog: I even tried obscure third party drivers but to no avail. The window disappeared and all that was left was the installation icon on the bottom of the screen.
The only thing I can possibly conclude is that while the wb111v2 has been confirmed working in 32 bit Windows 7 no one has reported it working in 64 bit windows.
The installer got to the same point entgear it just froze or stopped working.
